NJ TRANSIT recently completed another systemwide fare modernization project with the installation of 558 new ticket vending machines (TVMs) on our bus, rail and light rail systems, taking your travel experience to another level. The new machines provide you with faster transaction times, contactless payment options and much more.
NJ TRANSIT is using new air-operated snow-chain systems on its long-distance cruiser buses this winter, with each one requiring precise installation for the snow chains to work properly. The new system will allow Bus Operators on these buses to gain extra traction if they are having difficulty in snow or ice.
NJ TRANSIT had the honor of hosting President Joe Biden October 25, 2021, at the Meadows Maintenance Complex in Kearny, where all of our agency’s heavy rail maintenance is performed.
October has been a busy month for our NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors and the items they have been working on will benefit your travel experience!
It’s one of the fall season’s biggest and most popular social and sporting events in New Jersey, and we can take you there!
