NJ TRANSIT Rail, Light Rail, and Bus Service for Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Monday, January 19, 2026
RAIL:
On January 19, 2026, NJ TRANSIT Rail service will operate an enhanced weekend schedule for MLK, Jr. Day. The enhanced weekend schedule includes additional trains during the morning and afternoon/evening “peak” periods. See shaded trains in timetables and printable schedules and check footnotes for operating dates.
Customers are advised to carefully check Train Schedules for their specific lines.
LIGHT RAIL:
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, NJ TRANSIT Light Rail service will operate on modified schedules as follows:
Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate on a Saturday/Sunday/Holiday schedule.
Newark Light Rail will operate on a Saturday schedule.
River LINE Light Rail will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule.
BUS:
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, select NJ TRANSIT bus routes will operate on a special holiday or weekend schedule. Some routes will operate on a regular weekday schedule or will not operate.
