Heroes on the Way to Save the Day
Our everyday heroes don’t wear a red cape. In fact, they don’t wear a cape at all; they wear a bright yellow “TEAM TRANSIT” vest. Neither do they leap tall buildings in a single bound or do it for the sake of glory and fame; they just show up to show out!
These dedicated superstars –Ambassadors and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members– are invaluable resources to our customers during service disruptions and/or special events. At NJ TRANSIT, we believe a face-to-face interaction offers you a high level of skills and unique customer care.
Whether planning for a previously scheduled major event, preparing for inclement weather, or an unexpected service disruption, we want to be there for you every step of the way. During these events, we initiate a callout to employees to help customers. Depending on the nature of the event, we deploy them to strategic locations at outlying stations or major terminals.
The Ambassador program is arranged for scheduled events, including sporting events, concerts, major holiday travel, anticipated station closures and gate/track changes. An ERT activation is for an unexpected incident that has already occurred, such as a major service disruption that causes service delays and cancellations. Regardless of the reason, they are there to guide you in any way they can.
So, the next time you see a superhero in a bright yellow NJ TRANSIT vest, do not hesitate to ask for help and know that they are there to assist you.
