Ride the Rails to Steeplechase
It’s one of the fall season’s biggest and most popular social and sporting events in New Jersey, and we can take you there! The 100th running of the Far Hill Race Meeting Steeplechase takes place Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Moorland Farms, directly across from Far Hills Station on the Gladstone Branch of the Morris & Essex Lines.
Highlights include six horse races in the Grand National, steeplechasing’s richest race, with six local charities benefiting from the races. Many race spectators will also enjoy a vendor village, food trucks and extravagant fall picnic areas.
NJ TRANSIT will provide special rail service between Hoboken and Far Hills. You can enjoy scenic fall foliage out your train window traveling to and from the event. For the race day schedule, click here. While the special rail service is provided, Lakeland buses will replace regular Saturday train service on the Gladstone Branch.
Ticket offices will be open during regular hours October 16th at Hoboken, Summit and Dover. The ticket office at Lyons will have special operating hours, while temporary ticket booths with special operating hours will be available at Berkeley Heights, Bernardsville, Far Hills and Gladstone.
