Full Service Restored Consistent with Governor Murphy’s “The Road Back” Initiative
Beginning Monday, July 6, NJ TRANSIT will operate full weekday service for rail, providing added capacity in advance of expected ridership increases. This aligns with “The Road Back”, New Jersey’s roadmap for restoring economic health through public health.

- Regular weekend service on all lines resumes on Sunday, July 5. This includes:
- The resumption of weekend operation of the 7600-series trains on the NEC
- The resumption of normal weekend service for the last trains from New York to the Coast Line (3205/7205 and 4705) and from Newark to the RVL (5403/5503), which occurs late Sunday night/early Monday, July 6. Trains 7207, 4707 and 5505 will no longer operate.
- Regular weekday service on all lines – using the schedules in effect before the pandemic (last operated on March 19) – returns on Monday, July 6.
- In addition, Jersey Avenue Station reopens on Monday, July 6. It had been closed since special schedules went into effect since March 20.
- Cash will be accepted onboard trains starting July 6.
