NJ TRANSIT Rail Service for Independence Day (Observed) & July 4th Weekend - Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, 2020

NJ TRANSIT will operate modified Rail service during the Independence Day weekend as follows:

  • IMPORTANT: July 3 is Independence Day observed. The COVID-19 WEEKEND schedule will operate this day. Please note the following changes: 
    • On the Northeast Corridor Line, 7600-series trains (Rahway-New York) and 8800-series trains (extra service) will not operate. Regular weekend service levels will be provided at North Elizabeth (hourly through most of the day).
    • On the North Jersey Coast Line, 8200-series trains (extra service) will not operate. Regular weekend service levels will be provided at Avenel (every two hours through most of the day).
    • On the Raritan Valley Line, 8500-series trains (extra service) will not operate, and there will be no service at High Bridge, Annandale, Lebanon, White House or North Branch stations.
    • On the Morris & Essex Lines, 900-series, 8400-series and 8900-series trains (extra service) will not operate, and there will be no service at Hackettstown, Mount Olive, Roxbury, Lake Hopatcong and Mount Arlington stations.
    • Gladstone Branch weekend bus service will operate.
    • Montclair Line service will operate only between Bay Street and Hoboken. Customers traveling to/from New York must change trains at Newark Broad Street. 
    • On the Pascack Valley Line, regular weekend service (only trains numbered in the 2100-series) will operate, and there will be no service at Woodcliff Lake and Teterboro stations.
    • Port Jervis Line Trains 94 and 93 will not operate.
       
  • The COVID-19 weekend schedule will also operate on Saturday, July 4.
     
  • Regular weekend service returns Sunday, July 5. On this day:
    • The Northeast Corridor’s 7600-series trains resume weekend operation.
    • After midnight, the last trains on the North Jersey Coast (Train 7205 departing New York at 1AMwith connecting service to Train 4705 at Long Branch) and Raritan Valley Lines (Train 5503 at 1:28 a.m.) will return to normal operation. 
      • NJCL Trains 7207/4707 (1:34AMfrom New York) and RVL Train 5505 (1:47AM from Newark Penn Station) will no longer operate.
