UPDATE - Newark Light Rail: Newark Penn to Grove Street Platform Work Completed – Effective Immediately

UPDATE: Platform work is completed, and trains will operate as normal.

On Monday, June 28 through Saturday, July 3 from 8AM to 6PM, NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail service from Newark Penn Station to Grove Street Station will terminate at Silver Lake Station for every other scheduled trip due to platform work as follows:

Service Notes:

The 4:37AM to 7:53AM departures from Newark Penn to Grove Street will operate as scheduled. Modified service patterns will occur during this time as follows through 6PM, Saturday, July 3.

• The 8AM departure from Newark Penn to Grove Street will operate as scheduled.
• The 8:07AM departure from Newark Penn to Grove Street will terminate at Silver Lake Station.
• The 8:14AM departure from Newark Penn to Grove Street will operate as scheduled.
• The 8:21AM departure from Newark Penn Station to Grove Street will terminate at Silver Lake Station.
• This pattern will continue throughout the day until 6PM.

Alternate Service: Customers traveling to Grove Street may take the next available light-rail train or consider alternate modes of transportation. NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 27 and 90 provide service near Silver Lake Light Rail Station. See Bus Point-to Point for schedule details.
