UPDATE: Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Service Adjustments for Independence Day Weekend – Sunday, July 4 to Monday, July 5, 2021

The following service adjustments will be in effect for Independence Day weekend, Sunday, July 4 to Monday, July 5.
Note: A regular Saturday schedule will operate on Saturday, July 3.
Sunday, July 4 (Independence Day):
On Sunday, July 4, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) routes will run on a modified weekend schedule to accommodate the Jersey City Freedom Fireworks at Exchange Place.
Service adjustments:
- Between 10AM and 5PM, trains will operate every 20 minutes.
- During this time, light rail vehicles will terminate at both Essex Street and Harborside as follows:
- Trains traveling from 8th Street and West Side Avenue will travel northbound to Essex Street and then return to 8th Street and West Side Avenue.
- Trains traveling from Harborside will travel northbound to Tonnelle Avenue and/or Hoboken Terminal. Southbound service will also be available between Hoboken Terminal/Tonnelle Avenue and Harborside.
- During this time, light rail vehicles will terminate at both Essex Street and Harborside as follows:
- From 5PM to 11PM, HBLR trains will operate every 15 minutes.
- From 6PM to 9:30PM, HBLR trains will operate limited service between Hoboken Terminal and Tonnelle Avenue.
Please allow for extra travel time. Due to anticipated increased ridership, attendees can expect extensive wait times, which could span in excess of several hours, particularly following the event. Customers are strongly encouraged to buy roundtrip tickets from ticket vending machines in advance of the fireworks event.
NOTE: Beverages of any kind, in any type of container, open or closed, is never permitted on board light rail cars. This policy will be strictly enforced.
Monday, July 5 (Independence Day Observed):
On Monday, July 5, Independence Day observed, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) service will operate on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
