Effective immediately and continuing with an anticipated completion by Memorial Day weekend, temporary schedule adjustments are in effect on the North Jersey Coast Line (NJCL) and on trips from Rahway Station through Penn Station New York on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) to accommodate major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel that was damaged by a truck in early March.

Modified schedules are as follows:

Service notes:

  • NEC schedule changes are impacting NJCL trains between Rahway and Penn Station New York only. There are no schedule changes to any trains operating between Metropark and Trenton. NEC adjustments are necessary for certain stations that are served by both the NJCL and NEC.
  • During this time, all trains at Hazlet and Middletown stations are operating on the Track #2 Platform (to Newark/New York) until further notice. The Track #1 Platform (to Long Branch/Bay Head) is closed at Hazlet and Middletown stations. All trains in both directions will board and deboard customers on the Track #2 Platform at both stations.
  • On weekend mornings only, slight schedule adjustments are in affect for certain NY connections on the Raritan Valley, Pascack Valley and Bergen County lines. Printer-Friendly Timetables are available HERE

Laurel Avenue Bridge Repair Project (Update):

  • As of Sunday, May 22 Laurel Avenue roadway has reopened for vehicular traffic following the bridge repair work.
  • In addition, new ballast and rail need to be installed prior to resuming regular service.
  • Repairs are expected to be completed by Memorial Day, and regular service is anticipated to resume on Tuesday, May 31.

We appreciate your patience during this temporary adjustment.
