Rahway & Linden Stations: Temporary Boarding Changes due to Amtrak Tie Replacement Friday, July 22, to Monday, July 25, 2022
Beginning at approximately 10PM Friday, July 22 and continuing until 5AM Monday, July 25, boarding/alighting at Rahway and Linden stations will be impacted by track infrastructure improvements.
During this time, customers traveling eastbound (to Newark/New York) will only be able to board/alight on low-level platforms with the assistance of train crews and uniformed NJ TRANSIT staff. High-level boarding will not be available during this project. Alternative boarding/travel options for customers requiring accessible boarding are shown below.
NOTE: Beginning Monday, July 25, and continuing for approximately 8 weeks, the following service adjustments will be made at Rahway, Linden, Elizabeth and North Elizabeth Stations to accommodate Amtrak track work. A separate advisory will provide details regarding the use and availability of the extended platforms:
- Eastbound customers at Rahway and Linden will board/alight via stairs to/from the high-level platform at the track level using special extended platforms that permit level boarding on the overnight hours on Monday through Friday between 9PM and 5AM.
- Eastbound customers at Elizabeth and North Elizabeth will board/alight via stairs to/from the high-level platform at the track level using special extended platforms that permit level boarding on the overnight hours on Monday through Friday between 11PM and 5AM.
