Linden Station: Possible Delays due to Boarding/Detraining Adjustments – Beginning Friday, June 7, 2024

Possible delays of up to 15 minutes in eastbound (to Newark/New York) direction

Due to Amtrak switch replacement work, eastbound (to Newark/New York) customers will have adjusted detraining/boarding at Rahway, Linden, Elizabeth and North Elizabeth stations.

LOW-LEVEL PLATFORMS – NO LEVEL BOARDING

Customers detraining/boarding at Rahway, Elizabeth and North Elizabeth will be required to use low-level platforms with no level-boarding or detraining available during the following dates/times:

  • 9PM Friday, June 7 until 5AM Monday, June 10 (all weekend)
  • 9PM Monday, June 10 until 5AM Tuesday, June 11
  • 9PM Friday, June 14 until 6AM Saturday, June 15
  • 9PM Saturday, June 15 until 6AM Sunday, June 16
  • 9PM Sunday, June 16 until 5AM Monday, June 17
  • 9PM Monday, June 17 until 5AM Tuesday, June 18
  • 9PM Friday, June 21 until 5AM Monday, June 24 (all weekend)

 

During the aforementioned periods, customers requiring level boarding or detraining at Linden Station should do the following: 

  • If you are traveling from accessible Northeast Corridor stations (Trenton through Metropark): Detrain at Metropark and call 908-324-3517 to arrange for Access Link transport to Linden.
  • If you are traveling from accessible North Jersey Coast Line stations (Point Pleasant Beach through Woodbridge): Detrain at Woodbridge and call 908-324-3517 to arrange for Access Link transport to Linden.
  • If you are traveling FROM Linden: Call 908-324-3517 to arrange for Access Link transport to Newark Airport (with dropoff at Terminals A, B or C), to Newark Penn Station, or to Secaucus.

From Newark Penn Station, connections are available to:

  • NJ TRANSIT trains to Secaucus and Penn Station New York
  • NJ TRANSIT Raritan Valley Line trains
  • NJ TRANSIT buses
  • NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail
  • PATH service to Harrison, Jersey City, Hoboken and New York

From Secaucus, connections are available to:

  • NJ TRANSIT trains on the Morris & Essex, Montclair-Boonton (weekdays only), Main, Bergen County, Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines
  • NJ TRANSIT trains to Penn Station New York
  • NJ TRANSIT buses

 

Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible on eastbound NEC and NJCL trains from Rahway to New York during weekend days and all overnights for the duration of this project. Please allow for extra travel time.

 

Please use caution when boarding or detraining at the affected stations and follow the directions of train crews.
