Atlantic City Line: Service Adjustments due to Bridge Rehabilitation – Beginning Friday, October 11

To support the replacement of the Cedar Creek Bridge in Egg Harbor and grade crossing rehabilitation in Berlin, Atlantic City Rail Line service will be adjusted as follows:

  • Beginning at approximately 9PM Friday, October 11, and continuing until 4AM Monday, October 14, trains WILL NOT OPERATEDuring this time, customers will use the No. 554 Bus between Atlantic City and Lindenwold, the No. 551 Bus between Atlantic City and Philadelphia, as well as a special bus service (Route No. 340) operating between Atlantic City, Lindenwold, Cherry Hill, Pennsauken, and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.
  • From approximately 7:30AM until 2:30PM on Tuesday, October 15, trains will operate on an adjusted schedule between Lindenwold and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station only. Customers traveling between Atlantic City and Lindenwold will use the No. 554 bus.

Specific station details can be found below:

Atlantic City

  • ALL buses will depart from the Atlantic City Bus Terminal (corner of Atlantic and Ohio Avenues).
  • Casino Rail shuttle service will operate between the Bus Terminal and the Atlantic City Rail Terminal.
  • Customers traveling to Absecon, Egg Harbor City, Hammonton and Atco should use the No. 554 bus, which departs from Lane 6 in the Bus Terminal and operates 24 hours per day, at least once per hour.
    • NOTE: The No. 554 Bus does not serve Absecon Station between 12 midnight and 5AM. During this time, use the special bus (No. 340) to reach Absecon Station.
  • Customers traveling to Lindenwold can use either the No. 554 or the special bus (No. 340). 
  • Customers traveling to Cherry Hill and Pennsauken Transit Center should use the special bus (No. 340).
  • Customers traveling to Philadelphia can:

    • Use the No. 551 bus to Center City Philadelphia, with stops along Market Street from 6th Street to City Hall. The No. 551 bus normally departs from Lane 8 in the Bus Terminal and operates 24 hours per day, at least once per hour. To continue beyond City Hall, transfer to SEPTA services.
    • Use the special bus (No. 340) to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.

    Absecon

    • Customers should use the No. 554 bus:
      • Traveling to Egg Harbor City, Hammonton, Atco and Lindenwold Stations, board the bus on Station Avenue across from Absecon Station.
      • Traveling to Atlantic City, board the bus at White Horse Pike near Station Avenue.
        • NOTE: During overnight hours (12 midnight until 5AM), the No. 554 bus does not directly serve Absecon Station. Customers traveling to Lindenwold and stations beyond Lindenwold can board the special bus (No. 340) at on Station Avenue across from Absecon Station. Customers traveling to Atlantic City can board the special bus (No. 340) at White Horse Pike near Station Avenue. Customers traveling to Egg Harbor City, Hammonton and Atco can board the No. 554 bus at the corner of New Road (US Route 9) and Ohio Avenue in Absecon.
    • Customers traveling beyond Lindenwold to Cherry Hill, Pennsauken Transit Center and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station should transfer to the special bus (No. 340) at Lindenwold.

    Egg Harbor City

    • Customers should use the No. 554 bus:
      • Traveling to Hammonton, Atco and Lindenwold, board the bus on Atlantic Avenue next to the train station’s platform.
      • Traveling to Absecon and Atlantic City, board the bus on Atlantic Avenue across the street from the platform.
    • Customers traveling beyond Lindenwold to Cherry Hill, Pennsauken Transit Center and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station should transfer to the special bus (No. 340) at Lindenwold.

    Hammonton

    • Customers should use the No. 554 bus:
      • Traveling to Atco and Lindenwold, board the bus on South Egg Harbor Road between Vine Street and Bellevue Avenue (Route 54) across from the old train station.
      • Traveling to Egg Harbor City, Absecon and Atlantic City, board the bus at bus on South Egg Harbor Road between Vine Street and Bellevue Avenue (Route 54) adjacent to the old train station
    • Customers traveling beyond Lindenwold to Cherry Hill, Pennsauken Transit Center and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station should transfer to the special bus (No. 340) at Lindenwold.

    Atco

    • Customers should use the No. 554 bus for travel to Lindenwold, Egg Harbor, Absecon and Atlantic City Bus Terminal. Buses in both directions board at the stop adjacent to the train platform. Please check destination signs and confirm with the operator that you are boarding the correct bus.
    • Customers traveling beyond Lindenwold to Cherry Hill, Pennsauken Transit Center and Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station should transfer to the special bus (No. 340) at Lindenwold.

    Lindenwold

    • Customers should use the special bus (No. 340) for travel to Cherry Hill, Pennsauken or Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.
    • Customers should use the No. 554 bus for travel to Atco, Hammonton, Egg Harbor Cit or Absecon.
    • Customers may use either the No. 554 bus or the special bus (No. 340) for travel to Atlantic City Bus Terminal.
    • All buses use the bus stop at the north end of Lindenwold Rail Station, near the PATCO entrance.
    • Customers may also use PATCO for service to Camden and Center City Philadelphia.

    Cherry Hill

    • Customers should use the special bus (No. 340) for travel to Pennsauken Transit Center, Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, Lindenwold or Atlantic City Bus Terminal. Buses in both directions board at the stop adjacent to the train platform. Please check destination signs and confirm with the operator that you are boarding the correct bus.
    • Customers continuing beyond Lindenwold to Atco, Hammonton, Egg Harbor City or Absecon should transfer at Lindenwold to the No. 554 bus.

    Pennsauken Transit Center

    • Customers should use the special bus (No. 340) for travel to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, Cherry Hill, Lindenwold or Atlantic City Bus Terminal. Buses in both directions board in the bus lanes adjacent to the train station. Please check destination signs and confirm with the operator that you are boarding the correct bus.
    • Customers continuing beyond Lindenwold to Atco, Hammonton, Egg Harbor City or Absecon should transfer at Lindenwold to the No. 554 bus.
    • Customers may also use RIVER LINE service to Walter Rand Transportation Center (toward Entertainment Center) and at WRTC to any Philadelphia-bound bus for service to Center City Philadelphia.

    30th Street Station

    • Customers should use the special bus (No. 340) for travel to Pennsauken Transit Center, Cherry Hill, Lindenwold or the Atlantic City Bus Terminal. Buses board under the portico on the 30th Street side of the station. Please follow the direction of Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT staff to reach the correct location for the bus.
    • Customers continuing beyond Lindenwold to Atco, Hammonton, Egg Harbor City or Absecon should transfer at Lindenwold to the No. 554 bus.

      SPECIAL NOTES: 

      • Customers may board the No. 551 bus at any stop on Market Street in Center City Philadelphia (between 6th Street and City Hall) for travel to the Atlantic City Bus Terminal.
      • Customers may board PATCO in Center City Philadelphia at 8th and Market Streets or any stop along Locust Street for travel to Lindenwold.
