Bus Detour for No. 24 in Newark - Sunday, October 19, 2025

Effective Sunday, October 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Broad Street will be closed between Central Avenue and Astor Street for the Newark Annual Breast Cancer Walk.

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Central Avenue and University Avenue, make a right on University Avenue, right on Clinton Avenue, left on Astor Street, right on Frelinghuysen Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Orange will travel from Broad Street and Murray Street, make a left on Murray Street, right on Clinton Avenue, left on Washington Street, left on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
