Bus Detour for No. 59 in Newark - Sunday, October 19, 2025

Effective Sunday, October 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Broad Street will be closed between Washington Street and Clinton Avenue for the Newark Annual Breast Cancer Walk.

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 59 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Newark will travel from Clinton Avenue and Washington Street, make a left on Washington Street, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Dunellen will travel from Washington Street and Broad Street, make a left on Broad Street, left on Lackawanna Avenue, left on University Avenue, continue on Washington Street, right on Clinton Avenue, and then continue the regular route.

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
