Bus Detour for No. 48 in Rahway - Friday, November 28, 2025

Effective Friday, November 28, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Irving Street, Main Street, and Milton Avenue will be closed between Lewis Street and Hazelwood Avenue for the Christmas Tree Lighting. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 48 in Rahway will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Hazelwood Avenue and Main Street, continue on Hazelwood Avenue, make a right on Jaques Avenue, right on Milton Avenue, left on Esterbrook Avenue, right on Elm Street, left on Irving Street, right on Elizabeth Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Perth Amboy/Woodbridge will travel from Irving Street and Elm Avenue, make a right on Elm Avenue, left on Esterbrook Avenue, right on Milton Avenue, and then for Woodbridge service, continue the regular route. For Perth Amboy service, continue on Milton Avenue, left on Jaques Avenue, left on Hazelwood Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
