NJ TRANSIT: Thanksgiving Holiday Bus Service – Wednesday, November 26, through Friday, November 28, 2025
Beginning Wednesday, November 26, and continuing through Friday, November 28, holiday bus schedules will be in effect on select NJ TRANSIT bus routes.
Wednesday, November 26:
- Most NJ TRANSIT local bus service will operate on a weekday schedule. See schedules on njtransit.com.
- Most Port Authority and Jersey City Waterfront bus services will operate on a holiday schedule due to reduced AM and PM peak demands. Extra service will operate between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM due to early getaway demands.
- The following bus routes will operate on a special schedule and may have minor AM and/or PM peak schedule adjustments to provide early getaway service:
- 2, 8, 10, 58, 59, 63/64, 65, 66, 68, 82, 101, 105, 113, 114, 116, 119, 120, 122, 123, 125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 144, 145, 148, 151, 154, 155, 156, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 177, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, 319, 320, 321, and 324.
- The following bus routes will operate on a special schedule and may have minor AM and/or PM peak schedule adjustments to provide early getaway service:
Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day):
- Most NJ TRANSIT bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule. Select routes will NOT operate. See the Holiday Service Guide on njtransit.com.
- No. 139 will operate a modified Sunday schedule.
- The following bus routes will operate extra bus service to/from New York for the parade: Nos. 113, 114, 116, 119, 123, 126, 127, 128, 129, 154, 158, 159, 161, 163, 166, 167, 190, 192, 193, 197, and 320. See schedules on njtransit.com.
- For inbound (to NY) buses, extra service will operate between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM. For outbound (from NY) buses, extra service will operate from 12:00 PM through early evening.
- Extra service will operate 5 minutes ahead of regularly scheduled trips. Customers should arrive at their boarding location at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- No. 319 will operate extra service to Atlantic City throughout the day.
Friday, November 28:
- For NJ TRANSIT local bus service, see schedules on njtransit.com.
- Most Port Authority and Jersey City Waterfront bus services will operate on a holiday schedule due to reduced AM and PM peak demands.
- Nos. 63 and 68 will not operate.
- Nos. 40 and 111 will provide a special, enhanced schedule to and from The Mills at Jersey Gardens.
- No. 319 will operate extra service to and from Atlantic City.
- No. 502 will operate an extra trip in the early morning in each direction.

- Please allow for extra travel time during the holiday period due to heavier-than-normal passenger demand and traffic congestion into and out of New York City (heaviest travel times are between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM for inbound travel and between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM for outbound travel).
- On full-service bus routes, remember that no bills over $20 are accepted. Exact change is appreciated.
- Customers departing PABT are reminded that tickets/passes are required before boarding the bus.
- To speed up your trip, purchase round-trip tickets in advance on your inbound trip or prior to leaving the terminal.
