Bus Detour for No. 163 in Ridgewood - Friday, December 5, 2025
Effective Friday, December 5, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, East Ridgewood Avenue will be closed between South Irving Street and South Broad Street for the Downtown for the Holidays Tree Lighting.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 163 in Ridgewood will operate on a detour as follows:
- Buses traveling toward PABT will travel from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Prospect Street, continue on Prospect Street, make a left to continue on Spring Avenue (cross over South Maple Avenue), left on South Irving Street, right on East Ridgewood Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
- Buses traveling toward Ridgewood will travel from East Ridgewood Avenue and South Irving Street, make a left on South Irving Street, right on Spring Avenue (cross over South Maple Avenue), right to continue on Union Street, left on Dayton Street, left on Prospect Street to bus layover.
- For Upper Ridgewood trips: from Dayton Street, continue on Hudson Street, left on South Broad Street, right on Ackerman Avenue, right on Doremus Avenue, right on Godwin Avenue, left on West Ridgewood Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
