Bus Detour for No. 59 in Newark - Friday, March 13, 2026

Effective Friday, March 13, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Central Avenue and Park Place will be closed between Washington Street and Mulberry Street for the St Patrick's Day Parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 59 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Washington Park will travel from Broad Street and Park Place, continue on Broad Street, make a left on Lackawanna Avenue, left on University Avenue, left on Orange Street, right on Broad Street, layover at the first bus stop on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route.

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
