Bus Detour for Nos. 5 & 21 in Newark – Friday, March 13, 2026

Effective Friday, March 13, from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM, Mulberry Street will be closed between Market Street and Raymond Boulevard due to a St. Patrick’s Day parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 5 & 21 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Newark Penn Station will travel from Market and Mulberry Streets, continue on Market Street, left on McCarter Highway, right on Raymond Boulevard, and then continue the regular route.         
• Buses traveling toward East Orange/West Orange will travel from Raymond Boulevard Bus Lane, turn right onto Raymond Boulevard, right on Market Street, and then continue the regular route.          

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
