Bus Detour for Nos. 11, 28 & 29 in Newark – Friday, March 13, 2026
Effective Friday, March 13, from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM, Washington Street will be closed between Raymond Boulevard and Broad Street due to a St. Patrick’s Day parade.
During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 11, 28 & 29 will operate on a detour as follows:
- Buses traveling toward Newark will travel from Broad Street and University Avenue, make a right on University Avenue, left on Raymond Boulevard, right on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route.
- Buses traveling toward Bloomfield/Montclair/West Caldwell will travel from Washington Avenue and Raymond Boulevard, left onto Raymond Boulevard, continue onto Lock Street, right on Central Avenue, left onto MLK Boulevard, right on Orange Street, left on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route.
Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
