Bus Detour for No. 24 in Newark – Friday, March 13, 2026

Effective Friday, March 13, from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM, Central Avenue/Park Place will be closed between University Avenue and Mulberry Street due to a St. Patrick’s Day parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Central and University Avenues, make a right on University Avenue, left on Raymond Boulevard, right on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route. 
• Buses traveling toward Orange will travel from Broad Street and Park Place, continue on Broad Street, left on Lackawanna Street, left on University Avenue, right on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
