Bus Detour for No. 27 in Newark – Tuesday, March 10, 2026

Effective Tuesday, March 10 at 12:00 AM until Wednesday, March 11, at 11:59 PM, Hawthorne Avenue will be closed between Fabyan Place and Leslie Street due to building construction.      

NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 27 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Newark, Bloomfield, Nutley will travel from Hawthorne Avenue and Fabyan Place, make a right on Fabyan Place, left on Nye Avenue, left on Hobson Street, right on Hawthorne Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  
• Buses traveling toward Newark, Irvington will travel from Hawthorne Avenue and Fabyan Place, make a left on Leslie Street, right on Nye Avenue, right on Fabyan Place, left on Hawthorne Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
