Bus Detour for No. 24 in Newark – Effective Immediately

Effective immediately, and continuing until Friday, March 27, at 5:00 PM, Central Avenue will be closed between University Avenue and Washington Street due to construction. 

NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from University and Central Avenues, make a right on University Avenue, left on Bleeker Street, left on Washington Street, right on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  
• Buses traveling toward Orange will travel from Park Place and Center Street, make a right on Center Street, right on Mulberry Street, right on Raymond Boulevard, continue onto Lock Street, left on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
