UPDATE: Newark Light Rail: Substitute Busing & Boarding Changes due to Track Maintenance Work - Weekend | Saturday, November 14 to Monday, November 16, 2020

UPDATE: This track work has been cancelled for this weekend until further notice. Normal weekend schedule will be in effect.

This weekend, Saturday, November 14 through Monday, November 16, from 2AM Saturday to 2AM Monday, NJ TRANSIT will perform necessary track maintenance work on the Newark Light Rail system.

During this time:  

• Substitute bus service will operate every 20 minutes all weekend between Newark Penn (rear of Bus Lane #1 near McDonald’s) and Grove Street stations.
• Rail service will be temporarily discontinued on the Broad Street Extension (BSE) including Broad Street, Washington Park, Newark Penn, NJPAC/Center Street, Atlantic Street and Riverfront Stadium stations. 
  • Customers are advised to use existing bus service to connect between Newark Penn Station and your destination. 
  • A separate advisory is posted detailing the existing bus service options for stations on the BSE.

Please allow for extra travel time, check the destination sign prior to boarding, and listen for station announcements.
