NJ TRANSIT Readies for Anticipated Severe Weather – Beginning Monday, February 12, 2024
NJ TRANSIT is monitoring severe weather anticipated to begin on Monday, February 12, and continuing into Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
On Monday, February 12, all NJ TRANSIT services will operate on full weekday schedules for as long as weather and road conditions safely allow. NJ TRANSIT customers are advised only to travel if necessary to keep roadways as clear as possible for snow plows and salt trucks. Customers who must travel are urged to build in extra time for their commute.
On Tuesday, February 13, Bus Route Nos. 196 and 197 will originate and terminate at West Milford Park & Ride due to the expected inclement weather. The Route 196 will not operate on Skyline Drive. NJ TRANSIT Rail will accept NJ TRANSIT Bus tickets and passes on Port Jervis Line trains to and from Harriman, Tuxedo, and Sloatsburg stations. Short Line Bus will accept NJ TRANSIT tickets and passes in Orange County.
Note: System cross-honoring will be in effect for rail, bus, and private carriers and light rail service for the full-service day on Tuesday, February 13.
For the safety of our customers and employees, weather conditions may require temporary service suspensions. Should that occur, NJ TRANSIT will provide as much advance notice as possible. However, conditions are expected to change quickly due to the nature of the storm. Customers are strongly advised to monitor njtransit.com for the latest service information.
