Hudson-Bergen Light Rail: Schedule Changes due to Independence Day Celebration - Friday, July 4, 2025
Due to July 4th celebrations and fireworks, light rail service will operate on a special schedule as follows.
Service Changes: Friday, July 4th
- Start of service until 10:00 A.M.
- From the start of service until 10:00 A.M., trains will operate on a modified weekend schedule.
- Midday until Midnight
- From 10:00 A.M. until midnight, trains will operate on a split service as scheduled below.
- Between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., trains will depart every 20 minutes.
- Between 5:00 P.M. and midnight, trains will depart every 15 minutes.
- During this time, there will be no service to Exchange Place.
- Trains will not operate between Harborside and Essex Street.
- From 6:00 PM to 9:30 P.M., shuttle service will operate between Tonnelle Avenue and Hoboken Terminal.
- After the fireworks there will be a brief interruption to the schedule to operate a load-and-go service between Tonnelle Avenue and Hoboken Terminal.
- After midnight, normal weekend service will resume.
- From 10:00 A.M. until midnight, trains will operate on a split service as scheduled below.
- NOTE: From Thursday, July 3, at 5:00 P.M. through Saturday, July 5, at 4:00 A.M., the North Parking Lot will be closed at Liberty State Park Light Rail Station.
Service on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. – Every 20 Minutes

- 8th Street to Essex Street - :09, :29, :49
- West Side Avenue to Essex Street - :08, 28, :48
- Harborside to Tonnelle Avenue - :03, :23, :43
- Harborside to Hoboken Terminal - :18, :38, :58
Southbound Departures (in minutes after the hour):
- Tonnelle Avenue to Harborside - :16, :36, :56
- Hoboken Terminal to Harborside - :05, :25, :45
- Essex Street to 8th Street - :16, :36, :56
- Essex Street to Westside Avenue - :10, 30, :50
Service on Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. – Every 15 Minutes
Northbound Departures (in minutes after the hour):
- 8th Street to Essex Street - :04, :19, :34, :49
- Westside Avenue to Essex Street - :03, :18, :33, :48
- Harborside to Tonnelle Avenue - :08, :23, :38, :53
- Harborside to Hoboken Terminal - :03, :18, :33, :48
- Hoboken Terminal to Tonnelle Shuttle - :18, :38, :58
Southbound Departures (in minutes after the hour):
- Tonnelle Avenue to Harborside - :11, :26, :41, :56
- Tonnelle Avenue to Hoboken Shuttle - :18, :38, :58
- Hoboken Terminal to Harborside - :05, :20, :35, :50
- Essex Street to 8th Street - :01, :16, :31, :46
- Essex Street to Westside Avenue - :10, :25, :40, :55
