Bus Detour for No. 44 in Newark – Effective Immediately

Effective immediately, and continuing until 11:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, Central Avenue will be closed between University Avenue and Washington Street due to utility work.   

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 44 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Newark will not be affected.          
• Buses traveling toward VA Hospital/Orange Station will travel from Central Avenue and Washington Street, make a right on Washington Street, left on James Street, left on University Avenue, right on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
