Bus Detour for No. 163 in Hackensack – Tuesday, November 18, 2025

Effective Tuesday, November 18, from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Essex Street will be closed between Summit Avenue and First Street due to paving work.     

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 163 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward PABT will travel from Summit Avenue and Beech Street, make a left on Beech Street, right on First Street, continue on Polifly Road, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Ridgewood will travel from Polifly Road and Essex Street, continue on First Stret, left on Beech Street, right on Summit Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
