Bus Detour for No. 72 in Newark - Friday, March 13, 2026

Effective Friday, March 13, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Washington Street will be closed between Broad Street and Raymond Boulevard for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 72 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Newark Penn Station will not be affected. Please expect minor delays.
• Buses traveling toward Paterson will travel from Raymond Boulevard and McCarter Highway, make a right on McCarter Highway, right on the jughandle for Lombardy Street, continue on Lombardy Street, make a right on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route.

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
