Bus Detour for No. 24 in Newark – Monday, March 16, 2026

Effective Monday, March 16, at 7:00 AM, until Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 PM, Frelinghuysen Avenue will be closed between Meeker Avenue and Concord Street due to railroad crossing rehab.  

NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Frelinghuysen Avenue and Concord Street, make a right on Concord Street, left on Elizabeth Avenue, left on Meeker Avenue, right on Frelinghuysen Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  
• Buses traveling toward Orange will travel from Frelinghuysen and Meeker Avenues, make a left on Meeker Avenue, right on Elizabeth Avenue, right on Concord Street, left on Frelinghuysen Avenue, and then continue the regular route.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
