Bus Detour for No. 24 (via Harrison Avenue) in East Orange - Sunday, April 26, 2026

Effective Sunday, April 26, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Central Avenue and Harrison Avenue will be closed between Evergreen Place and Oakwood Avenue for a 5k race.

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 via Harrison Avenue in East Orange will operate on a detour as follows:

• Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Harrison Avenue and Freeway Drive East, make a left on Freeway Drive East, right on Evergreen Place, left on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
• Buses traveling toward Orange will travel from Central Avenue and Evergreen Place, make a right on Evergreen Place, left on Freeway Drive West, right on Oakwood Avenue, left on Main Street, and then continue the regular route.

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
