UPDATE: Elizabeth Station: Eastbound/Toward New York Elevator Temporarily Out of Service – Beginning Monday, November 1, 2021
UPDATE: Elevator is expected to return to service at an earlier date. Please continue to monitor Elevator Status for further updates.
Beginning on or about Monday, November 1, and continuing for approximately two weeks, the Eastbound Elevator/toward New York at Elizabeth Station will be temporarily out of service for maintenance. Please note the following alternatives for accessing the platform:
Note: A ramp is now available on the eastbound/Track 1/toward New York side of Elizabeth Station. To access the ramp, please follow directional signage toward the eastbound/New York side of the station, up N. Broad Street, far side from the elevator (elevator would be toward the E. Broad Street side, behind you on the left). Stairs are also available near Chestnut and E. Broad streets. See station map for further details.
Customers who require accessible services but are unable to use the ramp, may consider the following travel options:
- Traveling TO Elizabeth Station from points west (e.g., Trenton): Remain on the train to North Elizabeth or Newark Airport stations and then transfer to an outbound train to Elizabeth Station.
- Traveling FROM Elizabeth Station to points east (e.g., Newark/New York): Take an outbound train to Rahway Station and then transfer to an inbound train to your destination.
- Customers may wish to utilize the closest accessible stations on the Northeast Corridor/North Jersey Coast Line, which include North Elizabeth, Linden and Rahway.
- NJ TRANSIT buses provide service near most Rail stations. Visit the Bus Point-to-Point page for bus schedules.
