Princeton Junction, Hamilton Station & Princeton Dinky Shuttle: Temporary ADA Boarding Changes & Bus Replaces Princeton Dinky due to Ongoing Infrastructure Work – Weekend, November 12-15, 2021
On Friday evening, November 12 at 10PM through Monday morning, November 15 at 5AM, boarding changes will occur at Princeton Junction and Hamilton Station for ongoing Amtrak infrastructure work. ADA boarding will be adjusted during construction, and customers requiring level boarding will be accommodated as detailed below.
To support this project, a bus will replace the Princeton Dinky shuttle train after 9:30PM on Friday and Saturday evenings (for full details, see busing schedule for Friday and Saturday).
Service Notes:
- Friday night, November 12, after 9:30PM:
- A bus will replace Princeton Dinky trains. Bus will depart Princeton Station up to 10 minutes earlier than the normal train time, and bus will depart Princeton Junction at the regular train time.
- Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
- Saturday, November 13:
- Limited level-boarding/detraining will continue at Princeton Junction and Hamilton until approximately 11:30PM. Note: Some doors will not open on certain cars. Please listen for announcements and follow the direction of crew members and customer service staff when boarding/detraining.
- Bus replaces trains on the Princeton Dinky after 9:30PM. Bus will depart Princeton Station up to 10 minutes earlier than the normal train time, and bus will depart Princeton Junction at the regular train time.
- Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
- Sunday, November 14 through 5AM, Monday, November 15:
- Non-level boarding will occur on Track 4, affecting westbound (toward Trenton) trains. During this time, ADA boarding changes will occur. A shuttle bus and Access Link vehicle will be available to accommodate ADA customers requiring level boarding/detraining as follows:
- Princeton Junction: Access Link vehicle will accommodate customers boarding at Princeton Junction and traveling to Hamilton or Trenton.
- Hamilton: NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 608 will be available for travel to Trenton until 10PM (please see the Bus Point-to-Point page for service schedule). After 10PM, Access Link vehicle will accommodate customers.
- Customers boarding at stations from New York through New Brunswick – and needing to exit at Princeton Junction or Hamilton Station – should travel to Trenton and transfer to an eastbound/to Newark/New York train to reach their destination.
- Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
- Note: Busing may be required on the Princeton Dinky after 9:30PM. Customers should monitor Travel Alerts & Advisories, and listen to announcements at Princeton Station and Princeton Junction.
- Non-level boarding will occur on Track 4, affecting westbound (toward Trenton) trains. During this time, ADA boarding changes will occur. A shuttle bus and Access Link vehicle will be available to accommodate ADA customers requiring level boarding/detraining as follows:
Beginning at 5AM Monday, November 15, level boarding is scheduled to resume at Princeton Junction and Hamilton Station.
