Princeton Junction, Hamilton Station & Princeton Dinky Shuttle: Temporary ADA Boarding Changes & Bus Replaces Princeton Dinky - Friday, May 13 until Monday, May 16, 2022

Beginning at approximately 9:30PM on Friday, May 13 and continuing until 5AM Monday, May 16, boarding changes will occur at Princeton Junction and Hamilton Station due to the completion of Amtrak infrastructure work.

ADA boarding will be adjusted on Sunday, May 15 at Princeton Junction and Hamilton Station, and customers requiring level boarding will be accommodated as detailed below.

To support this project, a bus will replace the Princeton shuttle train (Dinky) after 9:30PM on Friday and Saturday evening. See busing schedule for futher details.

Service Notes:

  • Friday night, May 13, after 9:30PM:
    • Buses will replace Princeton Dinky trains. Buses will depart Princeton Station up to 10 minutes earlier than the normal train time. Buses will depart Princeton Junction at the regular train time.
    • Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
  • Saturday, May 14:
    • Limited level-boarding/detraining will continue at Princeton Junction and Hamilton throughout the day. Note: Doors will not open on certain cars. Please listen for announcements and follow the direction of crewmembers and customer service staff when boarding/detraining.
    • Buses replace trains on the Princeton Dinky after 9:30PM. Buses will depart Princeton Station up to 10 minutes earlier than the normal train time. Buses will depart Princeton Junction at the regular train time.
    • Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
  • Sunday, May 15 through 5AM, Monday, May 16:
    • Non-level boarding will occur on Track 4, affecting westbound (toward Trenton) trains. During this time, ADA boarding changes will occur. Shuttle buses and Access Link vehicles will be available to accommodate ADA customers requiring level boarding/detraining as follows:
      • Princeton Junction: Access Link vehicles will accommodate customers boarding at Princeton Junction and traveling to Hamilton or Trenton.
      • Hamilton: NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 608 will be available for travel to Trenton until 10PM (please see the Bus Point-to-Point page for service schedule). After 10PM, Access Link vehicles will accommodate customers.
      • Customers boarding at stations from New York through New Brunswick – and needing to exit at Princeton Junction or Hamilton Stationshould travel to Trenton and transfer to an eastbound/to Newark/New York train to reach their destination.
      • Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).

Beginning at 5AM Monday, May 16, level boarding is scheduled to resume at Princeton Junction and Hamilton stations.

Note: Effective immediately (prior to Friday, May 13), there will continue to be limited level-boarding/detraining at Princeton Junction and Hamilton Stations. Some doors will not open on certain cars. Please listen for announcements and follow the direction of crewmembers and customer service staff when boarding/detraining. Certain late-night trains operating to Trenton may board/detrain on Track 1 (the normal eastbound/to Newark/New York platform).
