On Saturday, August 17, NJ TRANSIT will offer Rail service to/from Secaucus Junction and MetLife Stadium for the Kenny Chesney concert.
South Orange and Mountain Stations: Water Temporarily Unavailable – Effective Immediately
Effective immediately and continuing until approximately Saturday, August 10, the water at South Orange and Mountain stations will be unavailable due to necessary maintenance.
During this time, customers can utilize the restrooms located onboard the trains.
We appreciate your patience during this temporary adjustment.
Gladstone Branch: Buses Replace Trains for Electrical Maintenance – Weekend of August 24-25, 2024
During the weekend of August 24-25 (all day Saturday and Sunday), Gladstone Branch trains will be replaced by Lakeland buses to support various electrical maintenance projects.
Updated Rail Service Information for Wednesday, August 7, 2024
Due to weather-related impacts, including downed trees and damage to overhead wires on the Morris and Essex Line (M&E), service will remain suspended in both directions between Hackettstown and Summit stations on the M&E Line.
The M&E Line will operate on a weekday schedule with trains originating and terminating at Summit Station with select trains canceled.

Bergen County Line Delays due to Grade Crossing Rehabilitation – Saturday, August 3 & Sunday, August 4, 2024
Effective Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, from 6AM until 6PM each day, Westbound Bergen County Line trains may be subject to delays of up to 15 minutes from Broadway, through to Waldwick, Suffern, and Port Jervis due to grade crossing rehabilitation:
Newark Penn Station: Escalator to Tracks 3 and 4 Closed - Effective Immediately
Effective immediately and continuing until approximately Monday, August 12, the south entrance escalator to Tracks 3 and 4 will be unavailable due to repairs.
During this time, we ask that customers needing to access Tracks 3 and 4 utilize the adjacent staircase, the main concourse’s north entrance staircase, or the elevator to the right of the McDonald’s main entrance.

NJ TRANSIT Refund Policy for Unused Tickets
Beginning August 1, 2024, NJ TRANSIT will refund all unused one-way bus, rail, and light rail tickets purchased prior to June 1, 2024. This refund policy will also apply to rail 10-Trip tickets, which is equivalent to 10 one-way rail tickets purchased in a single transaction.
