Light Rail

On Monday, September 6, (Labor Day), River LINE Light Rail service will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Regular weekend schedules will operate on Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5.

On Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, boarding changes will occur on NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail due to scheduled track maintenance work as follows:

UPDATE: Platform work and boarding changes postponed due to weather. Trains are expected to board as normal.

On Saturday, August 21 and Sunday. August 22 from 6AM to 4PM each day, boarding changes and schedule adjustments will occur on NJ TRANSIT’S Hudson Bergen Light due to track work. During this time, trains will operate on Track 1 in both directions on Saturday and Track 2 in both directions on Sunday between 9th Street and Port Imperial stations.

Saturday, August 21 & Sunday, August 22 (6AM to 4PM)

Northbound Departure Times (in minutes after the hour):

Beginning on or around Monday, August 16 and continuing until approximately Monday, October 4 (weather dependent), the Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) will be upgraded at NJ TRANSIT’s River LINE Light Rail stations, one station at a time.

On Saturday, August 7 from 6AM to 3PM, boarding changes and schedule adjustments will occur on NJ TRANSIT’S Hudson Bergen Light due to catenary repairs. During this time, trains will operate on Track 1 in both directions.

Northbound Departure Times (in minutes after the hour):

• West Side Avenue to Tonnelle Avenue – :01, :21 and :41
• 8th Street to Hoboken Terminal – :09, :29 and :49

Southbound Departure Times (in minutes after the hour):

On Saturday, August 14 at 2AM to Monday, August 16, at 2AM, buses will replace Newark Light Rail trains between Newark Penn and Grove Street stations due to track maintenance work as follows.

On Saturday, August 7 from 2AM to 6:30PM, boarding changes and schedule adjustments will occur on NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail due to scheduled track maintenance work as follows:

On Saturday, July 31 to Sunday, August 1 from 2AM to 6:30PM each day, boarding changes and schedule adjustments will occur on NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Light Rail due to scheduled track maintenance work as follows:
