Light Rail

Effective Friday, October 10, at 11:00 PM, and continuing until Saturday, October 11, at 2:00 PM, the elevators at Bergenline Avenue Station will be closed due to repair work. 

During this time, a shuttle bus will be available for customers to be used between Bergenline Avenue and Tonnelle Avenue stations. 

The following has been canceled:

NOTE: Both days, all trains will run on a normal Sunday schedule.

6:00 AM to 6:00 PM: All trains will arrive on the outbound platforms at Park Avenue, Orange Street, and Norfolk Street stations.

Service Changes:

“FARE-PAY” is the new, smarter way to pay for your NJ TRANSIT trip. Now, customers may load a monthly pass, 10-trip ticket or cash value on the reusable FARE-PAY card for travel on any NJ TRANSIT bus or light rail. 

Both days, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM: On Saturday, all trains will arrive on the outbound platforms at Park Avenue, Orange Street, and Norfolk Street stations.

NJ TRANSIT will offer normal Sunday River LINE service for the Gospel Festival at Wiggins Park. Click HERE to view the River LINE schedule.

NJ TRANSIT will offer normal Wednesday River LINE service for the Tyler Childers concert at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. Extra train service will be available between Waterfront Entertainment Center and Trenton stations. Click HERE to view the River LINE schedule.

Newark Light Rail trains will be replaced by buses from Grove Street Station to Newark Penn Station on select weekends due to repair work at the Orange Street grade crossing.
